How to Watch the 2025 Super Bowl and Halftime Show for Free

3Views

It’s finally happening—welcome to the big game. Whether you’re hosting a watch party with friends or just streaming it on your phone while you’re at work, it’s super easy to watch the Super Bowl for free this year. No cable subscription or trial streaming subscription is required to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

The two teams are going head to head for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana. Have you been waiting for this rematch all season long? Or are you just tuning in to watch Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show and eat some nachos? Either way, here’s everything you need to know about streaming the Super Bowl online.

What Time Does the Super Bowl Start?

Kickoff for the 2025 Super Bowl is scheduled for 6:30 pm EST, 3:30 pm PST, on Sunday, February 9. Can’t wait for the action to begin? Post Malone is performing a pregame concert, available to stream on the NFL’s YouTube channel, starting at 4 pm EST.

How to Watch Without Cable

This year’s Super Bowl is being broadcast by Fox, so finding a place to watch it online is relatively easy, since Fox has several streaming partners.

We’d recommend watching Super Bowl LIX for free by signing up for Tubi. The game stream will be in 4K on compatible devices, and no credit card is required to sign up and watch. If you haven’t heard of Tubi before, it’s an ad-supported streaming platform with a decent library of shows and movies—and, I guess, the Super Bowl as well this year, through a partnership with Fox.

Do you often find yourself missing the feeling of watching live television? Having second thoughts about cord-cutting but not ready to jump back into that kind of commitment? Consider a monthly subscription to a live TV streaming service. Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and FuboTV are three popular options that all carry Fox. After discounted or free introductory periods, these subscriptions cost around $75 a month each.

It’s likely too late to purchase new gear before the Super Bowl starts, but you might want to consider getting an over-the-air antenna for future situations like this. Using the relatively cheap tool, you can watch local channels, including Fox, without any kind of subscription. The reception quality and channel availability depends on your location, so be sure to test your reception before any live events.

Who’s Performing at the Halftime Show?

Following Rihanna’s blockbuster, baby-bump revealing performance at the Super Bowl in 2023 and Usher’s headlining slot during last year’s halftime show, Kendrick Lamar will be performing with SZA for Super Bowl LIX.

Lamar’s performance comes right after his major Grammy wins for the Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” including song of the year and record of the year. He took home five awards at this year’s Grammys, bringing his total number of golden gramophone trophies to 22.
