A report from Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho highlighted mixed reactions to Worldcoin, with some participants successfully converting their $WLD tokens to cash while others struggled with withdrawals.

Filipinos in Bulacan, including Jhe Mendoza, Elenita and Evangeline Serrano, and Abigail Doria, lined up for Worldcoin’s iris scanning, receiving up to ₱2,500 in exchange for their biometric data. While Mendoza affirmed the project’s legitimacy, the Serrano family and Doria voiced skepticism, weighing financial need against privacy concerns. Tricycle driver Renato “Henry” Supnit shared frustrations over withdrawal issues and fears of data misuse, ultimately deleting the World app.

Following the arrest of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Solana-based memecoins themed after him quickly emerged on the Pump.fun platform. However, despite the high-profile event, these tokens have seen minimal trading activity and investor interest.

Each of the three memecoins launched has a market cap under $5,000, many of which failed to even reach the bonding curve—a pricing mechanism on Pump.fun where a token’s price increases as more people buy in. The lack of demand prevented these tokens from gaining traction, leaving them stuck at their initial price levels.
