Locally licensed crypto exchange Coins.ph announced that its users can now access their accounts, both on the mobile app and web, using Google Sign-In, a service that allows users to log in directly with their Google accounts.
Coins.phâs New Sign-In Feature

In a media statement sent to BitPinas, the crypto exchange said that the integration of Google Sign-In is a âsignificant technical milestoneâ for Coins.ph, as it eliminates the friction of traditional manual logins.
âIn the competitive landscape of digital finance, user friction is often the greatest barrier to mass adoption.
By allowing users to authenticate via their existing Google accounts, Coins.ph removes the friction of password management while ensuring that sensitive login credentials are never shared with or stored by the platform.â

Before, users needed to log in by typing their email or phone number and password. But with the update, which can be seen in the screenshot of the writerâs account, there is already the âContinue with Googleâ option.

What Does This Mean for Coins.ph Users?
For Coins.ph, leveraging Googleâs authentication infrastructure is a response to its communityâs demands for a âfaster, more resilient login experience.â
Technically, the new login feature introduces Google Sign-In powered by Google Identity Services (GIS), which uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0-based authentication. Instead of traditional passwords, user identity is verified through cryptographically signed assertions issued by Google.
âThis âpasswordlessâ approach provides a massive security upgrade, effectively neutralizing common threats like phishing, credential stuffing, and brute-force attacks, keeping millions of Coins.ph accounts safer than ever.â

Moreover, Coins.ph assured its users that the new feature automatically benefits from Googleâs advanced threat detection and Two-Factor Authentication protocols, where they can switch between the mobile app and the web interface without re-entering credentials.
ââOur mission has always been to bridge the gap between complex financial technology and everyday Filipinos. By enabling Google login for millions of users, we are removing one of the biggest barriers to entry. This is about making crypto and everyday payments not just secure, but truly effortless.â
