Can XRP price hold $1.26 as selling pressure builds?

7Views

XRP price has recovered to $1.30 on October 25, gaining approximately 1.56% over 24 hours, although falling whale-wallet counts and higher exchange balances have raised concerns about another sell-off.

Summary

  • XRP price recovered to $1.30 on October 25 but remained nearly 17% lower over the past month.
  • Wallets holding 10 million to 100 million XRP reportedly declined from 351 to 339.
  • Exchange balances rose by approximately 47 million XRP, according to figures shared by analyst Ali Charts.
  • Spot XRP ETFs recorded no net inflows on October 23 after attracting $3.55 million the previous day.
  • Analysts identified $1.26 as critical support, with $1.11 and $0.98 among the bearish targets.

According to crypto.news market data, the cryptocurrency traded between $1.26 and $1.31 during the reporting period, with daily trading volume near $1.33 billion. Despite Sunday’s recovery, XRP price remained 16.93% lower over the past month and had lost 0.61% during the preceding seven days.

Why is XRP price struggling despite its recovery?

XRP’s latest gain followed several days of weak trading as the cryptocurrency struggled to maintain support near $1.30. Buyers pushed prices above that level on Sunday, but the recovery remained limited compared with the losses recorded since September.

The token’s market capitalization stood around $82.33 billion, placing it fifth among cryptocurrencies by market value.

During October, XRP price repeatedly failed to regain $1.40, leaving traders watching whether the recent consolidation could develop into another decline.

As crypto.news reported on whale deposits, CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost previously observed that large XRP transfers to Binance had reached a seven-month high. The monthly average value of deposits involving more than one million XRP climbed to approximately $112.4 million.

Such deposits can precede selling, although transfers to exchanges do not establish that the owners have completed transactions.

XRP whales reduce holdings as exchange balances rise

More recent figures shared by crypto analyst Ali Charts indicated that wallets holding between 10 million and 100 million XRP had fallen from 351 to 339 over several weeks.

The reduction represents 12 fewer wallets in that category, suggesting some large holders may have redistributed their XRP or reduced their exposure.

Ali cited Santiment data showing that exchange-associated balances climbed from 11.003 billion XRP to approximately 11.05 billion XRP.

The difference amounts to roughly 47 million tokens, which the analyst rounded to 50 million XRP. At a market price of $1.30, the increase represents approximately $61.1 million worth of tokens.

Although exchange balances can indicate potential selling supply, they may include custody transfers, collateral movements or internal wallet management.

The latest observations follow previous concerns over exchange reserves, when tracked XRP balances reached 11.81 billion tokens on October 17. The earlier reading used a separate dataset, so the two figures should not be treated as a directly comparable series.

Recently, Santiment reported a record 8.24 million non-empty XRP Ledger wallets, with 4,772 new addresses created during one day. The wallet growth milestone showed continued network activity even as the cryptocurrency struggled to recover.

XRP ETF inflows stall after brief recovery

Institutional demand has presented another mixed picture.

According to SoSoValue data, U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds recorded no net flows on October 23, following approximately $3.55 million in inflows on October 22.

Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ accounted for the October 22 subscriptions, while the funds attracted approximately $708,520 the previous day.

The two positive sessions produced about $4.26 million in combined inflows before Friday’s flat reading.

Weekly subscriptions had resumed after the funds recorded approximately $1.84 million in withdrawals during October 12–16, ending 13 consecutive weeks of positive flows.

Cumulative net inflows remained close to $1.8 billion, although the recent daily figures showed considerably slower investment than during stronger periods in September.

ETF flows measure investors’ net contributions to the funds and do not capture every purchase or sale taking place in XRP’s broader market.

XRP price prediction: Could $1.26 trigger another decline?

The daily XRP price chart showed the cryptocurrency around $1.2957, with technical indicators continuing to favor sellers despite the latest recovery.

The Relative Strength Index stood at 39.17, slightly below its moving average of 39.25. Both readings remained under the neutral 50 level, indicating that buying momentum had not recovered sufficiently to reverse the recent decline.

The MACD line registered -0.0344, below its signal line at -0.0303, while the histogram remained negative at -0.0041.

Ali Charts identified $1.26 as the lower boundary of a descending channel developing since August. The analyst warned that a confirmed breakdown could expose XRP price to $1.11 and eventually $0.98.

Another analyst, Natasha, identified $1.20 as the next support area if the recovery failed, while outlining possible upside levels at $1.42, $1.55 and $1.88 if buyers regain control.

EGRAG CRYPTO placed another important support level at $1.24, warning that a four-hour close below it followed by a failed recovery could open the way toward $1.20, $1.15 and $1.11.

The technical chart identified immediate resistance at $1.35, followed by $1.40 and $1.50.
