Power Slap and VeChain have announced a long-term partnership to bring live slapping championship events to a global audience via YouTube.

Dana White, chief executive officer of Ultimate Fighting Championship and founder of Power Slap, along with Sunny Lu, co-founder and CEO of VeChain (VET), revealed the new deal via a press release shared with crypto.news. White and Lu also shared the news via X.

Under this partnership, VeChain, UFC’s official blockchain partner since 2022, becomes the official sponsor and title partner of Power Slap events. The crypto company will also serve as the slapping championship’s official cryptocurrency.

The first event under this collaboration, “VeChain Power Slap 12: Quinones vs. Bordeaux 2,” is scheduled for March 7, 2025, at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The event will debut on Power Slap’s YouTube channel, offering free live streaming to a global audience.

“We are incredibly proud to be working with Dana White to launch Power Slap on YouTube, which, like blockchains, has the mantra of ‘Power to the people’ at its core. In Power Slap, everyone has a chance to rise to the top. The sport has been growing fast through word of mouth, community, and influencers – a growth strategy we relate to as a decentralized blockchain,” Lu said.

As the official title partner, VeChain’s integration will extend across all broadcast and live-streamed content on YouTube. The blockchain platform will also feature on athletes’ official kits and within all marketing materials, including event posters and promotional backdrops.

VeChain and Power Slap plan to expand the partnership further, with additional integrations targeted for UFC and the UFC Foundation.

“Power Slap is a global phenomenon built on the internet.  In just two years, our social platforms have attracted over 22 million followers, and our content has accumulated more than 13 billion views.  Now with VeChain’s support, we are going to take this sport to another level!” White added.

Following its initial partnership with UFC in 2022, VeChain teamed up with the organization again in 2024 to promote VeBetter, an ecosystem aimed at accelerating adoption through tokenization.
