Ubuntu Tribe, in partnership with WallStreetBets, launched $GIFT Gold, a gold‑backed token aimed at democratizing access to gold. The public debut occurred Oct. 1 in Singapore following the Gold Rush Soiree at Token2049.

Key details

Each $GIFT Gold token corresponds to 1 milligram of audited, insured physical gold, stored in vaults across Europe, Dubai, and Singapore.
The token is regulated under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto‑Assets (MiCA) framework.
Users can redeem digital tokens for physical gold.

The Gold Rush Soiree drew over 200 industry figures, including executives from Animoca Brands, The Open Network, Polygon, AlphaTON Capital Network, Ubuntu Tribe, and WallStreetBets. The event served as the stage for unveiling the $GIFT Gold token.

Ubuntu Tribe markets $GIFT Gold as a tool for financial inclusion, enabling users to save, send, and spend gold through the UTribe Wallet. The wallet integrates with crypto rails, mobile money, and card payments.
