YGG Play, the publishing arm of crypto gaming guild Yield Guild Games (YGG), continues its expansion into the âCasual Degenâ genre with the launch of Waifu Sweeper.
Developed in partnership with gaming solutions and consulting firm Raitomira, the new title combines the nostalgic logic puzzles of Minesweeper with the collectible mechanics of Japanese gacha games.
What is Waifu Sweeper?
At its core, Waifu Sweeper is a strategic puzzle game. Players use avatarsâstyled as collectible anime-inspired âwaifusââto navigate a board, using logic and available information to uncover hidden treasures while avoiding monsters.
The Twist
While the game features âgachaâ elements (a mechanic where players spend currency to receive random items), Waifu Sweeper diverges from the traditional luck-based model.
According to the developers, the rewards players earn are largely determined by their gameplay proficiency rather than pure chance.
âWaifu Sweepersâ goal is to give players more agency about their in-game winnings by introducing âSkill to Earnâ â reducing randomness and distributing rewards more towards skilled players in the game.

YGG Playâs 2026 Initiatives
The launch of Waifu Sweeper marks YGG Playâs second major initiative this year as it cements its position as a âcasual degen-focused web3 gaming publisher.â
The platform recently announced a crossover with GIGACHADBAT, a game on the Abstract network, integrating the Bearish NFT IP ahead of a token launch.
